Water Authority Projects
Harris and Fort Bend County, Texas
For decades, IDS has helped deliver a safe, reliable water supply to Central and Southeast Texas communities. We oversaw turnkey design-build-finance of the $16 million Heart of Texas Water Supply Pipeline in Hutto, including acquiring 25 miles of easements. IDS staff fill multiple Authority Engineer roles, guiding capital improvement programs to fulfill groundwater usage reduction mandates established by subsidence districts.
For North Channel Water Authority, with 22 public and private members, we developed the region’s first approved groundwater reduction plan, phasing 11 projects totaling $15.3 million, including a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. As Authority Engineer for 11-member Central Harris County Regional Water Authority, IDS has helped obtain $22 million in Texas Water Development Board funding.
IDS engineers also apply creativity to individual projects, such as a new line for the Baytown Area Water Authority, which required tunneling 525 feet under the Coastal Water Authority East Water Supply Canal.
