Please join us in congratulating the newest shareholders of IDS Engineering Group
Carol Harrison is a native Houstonian, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering and engineering management. She began her career in 2009 and worked for other large multidisciplinary engineering firms before joining IDS. Carol and her husband stay busy with their 2-year-old son and a daughter, born in December. They enjoy going to the beach and spending time with their big circle of extended family.
Carol started as a Project Manager at IDS in 2014 with a focus in site development. She actively sought opportunities to diversify her skillset, taking on management of roadway, pedestrian improvement, and flood control projects. Carol’s expertise and leadership led to increasing project responsibility; she is now a Senior Project Manager in our Public Works Department. She works with a variety of clients from the public and private sectors. Carol most enjoys the ability to take a project from concept to completion and see the resulting community impact.
Vernon Webb grew up west of Houston in Katy and attended Texas A&M University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He previously worked for a large multi-national engineering firm and is happy to be at a smaller firm where he’s developed deeper client and co-worker relationships. Vernon credits the team-oriented spirit of IDS with providing him an ideal work-life balance, critically important because he has four young children. He’s returned to running and he completed the Houston Chevron Marathon in January and clocked his second best time ever.
Vernon joined IDS in 2015 as our Director of Water and Wastewater Services and continues in that role today. He oversees the team’s work and mentors their career growth. Vernon has also been the Project Manager for a massive 4,200-acre commercial master-planned community for six plus years. And for the past 24 years, he’s been the consulting engineer for several Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs). This variety of work continuously engages Vernon, allowing him to draw from all disciplines of engineering.
Carol and Vernon exemplify the technical expertise, attitude, and work ethic vital to meeting our clients’ needs. They are selfless in their commitment to mentoring our younger engineers. We are proud to have them as part of our leadership team.
