IDS Volunteers at Fall Adopt-a-Beach
On Saturday, September 28, 2013, several IDS employees and family/friends volunteered at the Texas General Land Office’s semi-annual Fall Adopt-a-Beach. This event consists of volunteers picking up trash along the Texas Coast from Beaumont to the Rio Grande. On cleanup day, IDS volunteers met at 8:30 am in Galveston, checked in and picked up trash bags, gloves, and a card to record their findings. The IDS group was assigned a portion of Galveston’s Stewart Beach located at 6th Street. The weather was outstanding and all the volunteers had a great time! The next scheduled cleanup is in April 2014 and IDS hopes to once again volunteer to help keep our beaches clean for all to enjoy!
